The Zambonis

The Zambonis formed in 1991 as leader Dave Schneider envisioned a band that would play nothing but songs about hockey. Initially dismissed as an oddity- they catapulted into the public eye with their first release- “100% Hockey..and other stuff”. Reviewed in such publications as Billboard, The LA Times and Rolling Stone- all praising the solid music and tuneful melodies- and the fun fact that the songs were all about the game of hockey!
Years later- several team theme songs have been written- and the band has appeared at every hockey arena in the country- culminating in a show at this year's NHL Allstar Game.
Their most famous song “Hockey Monkey” put them on TV and all over the news again.
When they were rained out last year, soaked fans still streamed into the park in hopes they'd play anyway- so we've brought them back this year.
Come see the only band equally influenced by The Beatles and Wayne Gretsky on The Jeff Crooms Welcome Stage on Sunday from 4:00-4:45. Wear a helmet.
